Satlink SMS terms
Last updated 29 October 2026. Satlink is operated by LAL GROUP LLC.
What these texts are
Satlink subscribers send text messages by satellite when they have no phone signal. When a subscriber messages your phone number, we deliver it to you by SMS from our number, labelled with the sender's Satlink name. These are person-to-person messages and safety check-ins (for example "arrived at camp" with a map link). We never send marketing.
How you start receiving them
A Satlink subscriber adds you as a contact in the Satlink app, usually a friend, family member or colleague who has given them their number. The first text you receive from each subscriber says it was sent via Satlink and how to opt out.
Replies, frequency and cost
- Reply to any text to message the subscriber back by satellite.
- Message frequency varies and depends on how often the subscriber writes.
- Message and data rates may apply, set by your mobile carrier.
Stop and help
- Reply STOP at any time to stop all Satlink texts to your number. You'll get one confirmation and nothing more. Reply START to receive them again.
- Reply HELP, or email hello@satlink.app, for help.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
We do not sell, rent or share phone numbers or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our privacy policy.
